Volunteer Board Position: Web and Media Support

Salt Lake County Search & Rescue is looking for someone with website and social media experience to help us maintain and improve our online presence. This is a 2-year commitment.

This is a volunteer (unpaid) position, but it's a chance to support a passionate team of volunteer rescue professionals who serve our community every day.

Responsibilities

Updating and maintaining our website, including:

  • Improving layout and usability

  • Developing new content for the website

  • Keeping information current and easy to access

  • Occasional updates for events, training, or public info

  • Improving SEO and GEO

  • Ensuring our website meets accessibility standards

Assisting with our social media, including:

  • Generating content (both visual and captions)

  • Creating social media strategy / Content calendar/planning

  • Engaging with followers

Ideal Background

  • Experience with Squarespace (mandatory)

  • Design experience, with the ability to communicate simply and clearly

  • Strong writing skills

  • Experience with social media and communicating in a professional capacity

  • Reliable and responsive
