Salt Lake County Search and Rescue (SLCOSAR) is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to saving lives in the mountains, deserts, canyons, and backcountry areas of Salt Lake County. As our community grows and rescue operations become more complex, securing sustainable funding is essential to ensuring our team has the training, gear, and resources needed to respond 24/7—no matter the conditions.

We are seeking a Grant Writer to join our Board of Directors and play a key role in strengthening the financial future of the organization.

Position Overview

The Grant Writer is a volunteer board position responsible for identifying, developing, and securing grant funding from foundations, corporations, and government agencies. This individual will collaborate with the Board, Team Leaders, and Finance Committee to support SLCOSAR’s operational needs, equipment purchases, training programs, and long-term initiatives.

This role directly contributes to our mission: to provide professional, efficient, and compassionate search and rescue services to the residents and visitors of Salt Lake County.
